This loanership will give me an incredible boost up that will set me apart from my peers, to not only be able to walk out with less debt, but to also be able to build my credit. I am blessed to have a full tuition scholarship to my university; but unfortunately, I still am left to pay exactly what an in-state student would have to for my room and board, because it's a liberal arts school. Though it's really expensive, it's granted me opportunities, I'm not sure a state school could. I've been able to participate in a semester long simulation of a corporation, where we actually sourced a product for a manufacturer and partnered with a local non-profit/foundation to give back. I've been able to take a class with students in India, and work with a non-profit in Pune, where we found ways to improve their processes and enhance their ability to make real social change. This education that I've been blessed with, has altered the way that I see the world, and how I want to move in it. I want to be a real agent of chance, and that's a tough thing to do with a lot of debt. PYT will give me the freedom to create the world that I wish to see by knocking down one less obstacle. In a world of racism, misogyny, bigotry, and wealth divide, I'll have one less thing to worry about; debt. On top of that, I'll be able to build my credit and learn what it feels like to pay for a line of credit. So, not only will I be able to fund my education but get a taste of the responsibility that comes with the real world.
